It has been suggested that some allergic and autoimmune diseases have increased in the United States because we are less exposed to “dirt” and micro-organisms as children. If someone proposed a significant cutback in public health hygienic and sanitary measures to deal with this concern, what would your thoughts be?

Review the recent epidemiologic literature and choose a journal article that is of interest to you and has not been chosen by another student. Potential choices include, but are not limited to, articles published in the past three years in journals such as: The Journal of the American Medical Association, The New England Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Epidemiology, American Journal of Public Health, etc. Once you have chosen an article, claim it by posting a reply to this discussion topic and changing the subject line of your post to the full title of the article. As always, incorrectly titled posts will be given a grade of zero. Also, please note that an article that has already been posted by another student is considered taken. If you post the same article, it will be given a grade of zero. Next, thoroughly read the article and process the information while researching any terms or concepts that you do not fully understand (it may help to have completed the required reading for the week – Chapters 11 and 13 of your book). Then, edit your post and provide a written response that details the following items:
