Reaction paper

You are required to submit reaction papers following 3 of the 8 screenings in this class. A reaction paper is a short essay (2 single-spaced pages) explaining your reaction to a film. It can be written as a review, which involves judgment or evaluation; or it be a work of analysis that focuses on a particular character, theme, technique, or scene. It may also take the form of a journal entry, which can present a more personal reaction rather than an attempt to provide either definitive judgments or detailed analysis.
Your reaction paper, though, must be written as a formal essay prepared for an audience: it should refer directly to the film you’re discussing. Each reaction paper should be organized and concise. You should focus on one primary idea or perception, support it with specific evidence (references to individual shots or scenes), and present your ideas clearly.
Your reaction papers must correspond to the schedule below:
Reaction Paper 1: Warm December. (1973) Dir. Sidney Poitier.
