Natural Hazard Plan

This exercise is to be an independent effort, not collaboration. You may use relevant, legitimate websites (NOAA, FEMA, USGS, municipal/County/State site, etc.) and the Online Library as needed to create your project.
Assignment details:

1. Review the documents in the “Course Project” folder in the Resources Section.

2. Draft an outline (in “outline” format) for a hurricane plan for a single municipality of no more than 20,000 people. You may choose any municipality in the U.S. that is subject to hurricane hazard as long as it has 20,000 people or less. (www.census.gov for population information, or the municipality’s website).

3. Add to the outline some basic data that you feel is relevant for hurricane planning. Please keep in mind this is not an “Emergency Operations Plan”, but a “Hurricane Plan” – a “hazard-specific annex”. (e.g. under population, describe the basic characteristics of the population of the jurisdiction).
