Paper instructions:
Please see attached paper instructions. Instructions are very clear and upfront. It’s not a complicated assignment. The Professor clearly states what is expected.
Would be great if writer has access to the following book and uses it as one of the sources: CANNIBALISM AND THE COLONIAL WORLD, by Barker, Francis et al. (Cambridge, 1998)
598 KINGS, CANNIBALS & COLUMBUS
ESSAY 1
Deadline: October 18th, 6pm
Content
Write a 10-15 page essay (with an introduction, main body of argument, and conclusion) on one of the following questions from the syllabus (handed out at the beginning of the semester):
1) To what extent can we learn about a culture by studying its discourses on cannibalism?
2) How did Renaissance Europeans think about Black Africans? What types of sources and methods allow us to shed light on this question? How effective are these approaches, and why?
Format
Double-spaced, 12-point, in a clear font (e.g. Times New Roman). Please name the file in this format, with your surname before your first name: ‘Cohen Jeffrey essay1’.
Footnoting and proper citation is expected. The simplest way to do this is to choose one of the readings as a model and follow the footnoting style you see there. Please provide a bibliography at the end of the reading response, listing the works that you have cited. Aim to cite five different sources. For each essay, you may consider each chapter as a separate source, since they are by different authors. You may also search JSTOR for further articles on subjects of interest, such as articles you find in the footnotes of other articles and books.

Please submit your essays online using Blackboard Learn. Log in with your WCSU username and password, select this course, and then navigate to the Assignment using the tabs on the left-hand side of the screen.
