What is the most important objective/priority of US foreign policy for that president – stability, defense, freedom, human rights, international organizations, common problems, democratic peace, etc.?
What does his foreign policy imply for different regions – Europe, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and Africa?
What did that president see as the major threats confronting the United States? Whom did he see as America’s major allies?
What did he (no she YET!) see as the most important opportunities, which the United States might exploit?
What is the most important means of foreign policy for that president – economics, trade, diplomacy, military capabilities, intelligence, etc.?
How did that president relate force and diplomacy? Did he back up his diplomacy with force? Did he follow up his use of force with diplomacy?
How did that president think about the role of public opinion in foreign policy? Did he lead or follow public opinion? Did he lead or follow the Congress? Did he remain popular or not? Was that important to him?
