I need to write a research paper for my social entrepreneurship class. The professor wrote the following:
“Develop a meaningful applied research question on a topic of current importance to the field of global social entrepreneurship, and then answer that question through a concerted research effort that examines both sides of the particular question and then offers a recommendation for resolution or action.”
For example, an interesting research question for you and your assignment partner to consider might be:
“Should the chief executive or senior leader of a non-profit social enterprise be able to earn a salary that is equivalent to that of a CEO of a high growth business (e.g., $500,000 or more in annual salary earned by several well known social entrepreneurs)?”
Another example:
“Should the patent laws be changed on a global basis to prevent the patent holder from blocking competitive offerings of humanitarian relief products especially in the context of a crisis such as famine?”
Or, a third example:
“Should the leading nations of the developing world (for example, India and Mexico) regulate the microfinance industry to cap interest rates, mandate transparent loan terms and prohibit public trading of shares?”
I have yet to develop the Research Question so I will be looking for suggestions prior to selecting your bid. Please come with ample ideas. The ideas above are merely examples and should NOT be believed to be the research question itself.
