1.Probationers versus Probation Officers
Discuss the relationship between probationers and probation officers. Is this relationship a mutually supportive relationship or a master/servant sort of interaction? Provide a “best practices list” for a probation officer when dealing with a probationer.

2.Probationer Interviews
Explain the significance of probationer interviews. While there are many “standard” interview questions, explain the importance of a probation officer’s ability to go beyond standard interview question materials. Does “active listening” play a part in the interview process? Should probationers take the individuality of the probationer into account? Discuss the positive and the negative effects of a probation officer’s personal investment in a probationer’s likelihood of success.
