Case Study Conflict in the Workplace
Project instructions:
For this portion, you will create your own Case Story of which I have already done. Please compose a 300 to 500 word essay describing a conflict situation you have experienced in school or at work in the recent past without using any personal or identifying names and details. Simply provide the basic information of the issues in a story relating way. You are allowed to use first person perspective if it best fits your needs. Within the story be sure to tell: who the parties are, what issue was at the source of the conflict, why the issue resulted in conflict, how the conflict progressed and was managed by the parties involved and where the issue and conflict stand today
Part 2 Case Study
Following the Case study Guidelines, compose a Case Study of your own Case Story. The word count allowance is 700 to 1000 words. Be sure to include the 6 required citations. Identify the parties and issues.
Within the Analysis: Evaluate which rules of negotiation were followed and which rules might have helped, Restrospectively identify and rank the interests and goals of all parties within the situation, tell if any kind of third party intervention was used and how it helped or hurt, explain how the attitudes and approaches of the parties made a difference in the progression and/or outcome of the situation, determine the negotiation of each party and the power options available to them
Within the Recommended Solutions:
Using the Post Negotiation Evaluation, determine what you could have done differently, if a third party intervention was not used or was not successful, evaluate if the situations could have benefitted from it. What do you think would have worked best? Why?, Decide what outside support could have been sourced for help, strength, information, or protection, and brainstorm and explain some win-win outcomes that were possible.
