Proposal is attached and instructions follow: Students are required to write an 6-8 page (double spaced, 12 point Times Roman font, 1.0 inch margins all around) APA style literature-review paper regarding some area or application of the information in class (page count does not include cover page and reference page; you do not need an abstract for such a brief paper). Please note that a literature review paper is akin to the introduction section in most journal articles. Personal examples should be avoided since the assignment is focused on a formal literature review. The final term paper is an extension of the proposal, hence students are encouraged to use all or part of their proposal in the final paper.
For your term paper and the proposal, you should have the American Psychological Association Publication Manual as your guide. Students may refer to http://www.fcas.nova.edu/academicservices/tutoring/documents/writing/APA_Handbook.pdf for APA writing guidelines. You can also use some of the information on the APA website at www.apa.org.The term paper must include a minimum of 6 references from top-tier journals such as Developmental Psychology and Child Development.
